Litigated Case Mediation

Opposing attorneys in discrimination, wrongful termination and ADA cases often select me to mediate cases where they feel that one or more of the disputing parties would be more responsive to a mediator with similar diversity-based characteristics. These attorneys recognize that parties who are lost in their emotions sometimes require a mediator who they perceive as empathetic and trustworthy—someone who truly gets and can interpret what the parties are feeling.

Case Support

Mediation: Sometimes attorneys represent clients whom they believe will not make positive courtroom impressions because of one or more diversity or personality issues. They also fear that the opposing side will take note of this during mandatory or voluntary mediation, and then seek to exploit it. Accordingly, I would be retained to provide the extra comfort and support to allow these clients to perform at their best during the mediation.

Client Relations: Attorneys often hire me to assist them when having difficult conversations with a client. They correctly understand that because of racial, cultural or gender sensitivities, their client would more easily understand and accept certain opinions and recommendations if I participated in the discussion.
